Introducing Myself as the Trainer at Sugar Boogie

Hi! My name is Christina Blaby, and I am excited to introduce myself as the trainer at Sugar Boogie. With a background as a Pastry Chef and the owner of Boutique Cake Art, I bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to this new role. For almost a decade, I owned a cake shop in Melbourne West, where I specialized in creating event cakes and teaching cake decorating classes. It was during this time that I developed a deep passion for the art of cake making and a strong desire to share my skills with others.

My journey in the hospitality industry has not been without its challenges. I have personally experienced the impact that the demanding nature of this industry can have on mental health. It is this personal experience that has driven me to create a course aimed at protecting the mental health of individuals working in the hospitality industry.

The course I offer at Sugar Boogie focuses on advocacy and self-care strategies. It is designed to equip individuals with the tools and knowledge needed to prioritize their mental well-being in a high-pressure environment.

Mental health is a topic that is often overlooked in the hospitality industry, despite its significant impact on individuals' lives. Through this course, I aim to raise awareness and provide practical solutions to help individuals protect their mental well-being.

Advocacy plays a crucial role in addressing mental health challenges. By advocating for better support systems and resources within the industry, we can create a more supportive and understanding environment for all. I will guide participants in developing their advocacy skills and empower them to speak up for themselves and others.

In addition to advocacy, self-care strategies are essential for maintaining good mental health. I will share effective self-care techniques that can be easily incorporated into daily routines. These strategies will help individuals manage stress, maintain a healthy work-life balance, and build resilience.

As the trainer at Sugar Boogie, I am committed to providing a safe and inclusive learning environment. I believe that everyone deserves to thrive and succeed in their chosen profession without compromising their mental well-being.

If you are wanting to dip your toe into the Hospitality waters and looking to prioritize your mental health and develop the skills needed to advocate for yourself and others, I invite you to join me in our 'Unlocking your Hospo-tential course' held at The Basin Community House.

Together, let's create a healthier and more supportive hospitality industry.
